Dr.Sajiv Adlakha has a strong background of academics and clinical in Speech Therapy. During the decade he has accomplished Speech Therapy research on Stuttering and development of professionals which includes his self development by attending National and International conferences as well.
Dr. Sajiv Adlakha has also been nominated for 2000 Malcolm Fraser Award for Excellence in the field of Stuttering.
Dr. Adlakha had the honour of being appointed the NATIONAL AGENT FOR ASIA REGION by INTERNATIONAL FLUENCY ASSOCIATION (U.S.A.) in 1995.As National Agent he is actively involved in the management of FLUENCY DISORDERS and in the improvement of Quality of life of Stutterers and their family members.
Dr.Adlakha is also a member of INDIAN SPEECH & HEARING ASSOCIATION & STUTTERING FOUNDATION OF AMERICA .His association with these bodies has helped him in improving his professional capabilities and foresightedness in planning to deal with all types of STUTTERING.
In 1989, Dr. Sajiv Adlakha formed a self-help group by the name of SWAR SUDHAR SOCIETY,which represents a productive group of individuals having diverse activities in the field of STAMMERING and fluency maintenance.Every Saturday a group of boys and girls who has stuttering (now fluent or having stuttering) assemble with the aim of public speaking through plays,speaking extempore,skits etc. Outdoor sports(cricket),picnics and other actvities are organised to deal with the habit of STUTTERING in interactive situations.With his sustained professional practice since 1986 he has proved himself to be an outstanding stuttering therapist of India.He has the credit of improving the quality of life of children,teenagers and adults.Not only this,he has also mitigated the anguish and sufferings of family members of stutterers.
In addition to these activities Dr.Sajiv Adlakha has conducted camps and workshops. Has contributed by way of articles in newspapers and magazines in HINDI & ENGLISH to reach the cross-section of the society.His attempt to publish books entitled - “HAKLANA AUR APKA BACHA ” &” STUTTERING AND YOUR CHILD - Question & Answers“,to educate the masses in the subject is the first of its kind in India.The books are published by renowned publishers DIAMOND POCKET BOOKS.The books also contain the experiences of some of the parents and stutterers who have managed to overcome this problem.This is very helpful in motivating others to undergo the therapy devised by Dr.Sajiv Adlakha.
Realising that the problem must be tackled at the initial root level,Dr.Adlakha organises lectures in schools for effective communication and arranges distribution of printed material free of cost,Do’s and Don’ts for the parents of the stuttering child and suggestions to the teachers.
Dr.Sajiv Adlakha is also associated with NON GOVERNMENT ORGANISATIONS like UDYAN CARE,
NAAZ FOUNDATION & BACHPAN helping their children in coping their speech and hearing disorders.
